For this application, Halifax Fans’ client supplied an incinerator to operate on an offshore oil platform. The offshore industry is renowned for their demanding safety and operating specifications and it was Halifax Fans’ reputation in providing high specification bespoke fan projects for the petrochemical industry onshore that gave the client confidence to select Halifax for this project. The decision was made more crucial as this was the first incinerator rig ever to be installed on an offshore oil platform.

Selection of suitable peripheral items is critical to safety and reliability in such a situation and the overall solution supplier needs to be entrusted with purchasing fully compliant sub-assemblies from quality assured sub-contractors.

For this first ever offshore platform based incinerator, Halifax Fan supplied a comprehensive dual back-up solution comprising twin ‘run’ and ‘standby’ assemblies on a common skid.

Each set included inlet vane control, fan, motor, isolation damper and ductwork. Offshore installations demand high integrity manufacturing, full DPI testing and where necessary special paint finishes. Supplying this unique bespoke assembly further enhanced Halifax Fans’ reputation for offering customised solutions to demanding applications in unusual situations.
