Bifurcated Axial fans

The Halifax Bifurcated Axial range offers the ability to handle handle steam, fumes or gases which would normally be harmful to the motor.

The Halifax small Bifurcated fan is a direct driven axial flow fan, with the motor remote from the air stream.

The object of this design is to enable the fan to handle steam, fumes or gases which would normally be harmful to the motor.

The standard stock casings are fabricated from mild steel plate and hot dipped galvanised after manufacture. Stainless steel casings for more specialised applications are also available. The inlet and outlet are fitted with circular drilled flanges.


The Bifurcated fan impeller is made up of a number of blades attached to a centre boss or from a single casting whilst often impellers for more specialised applications are fabricated from other materials, suitable for specific environments.


Motors suitable for all major electrical supplies are available. ATEX motors available for most fan sizes.

Temperature range

Standard Halifax Bifurcated fans operate up to 105°C, for temperatures up to 205°C the motor compartment is lined with heat resistant material. Fans operating outside these conditions are considered on an individual basis.

    The heavy engineering capacity of the new plant in Akron, Ohio, has enabled Halifax to produce custom designed fans from 9ins to 140ins diameter and subsequently, turnover in the USA has nearly trebled over the last 12 months. Manufacturing in North America has also won them a number of new customers in Canada, a market previously difficult to service.
